Job Description: Compliance Officer 
 
Techknital Fabrics Ltd is a small textile manufacturing business with international trade predominately into the aviation sector. Due to continued growth, we are now looking to expand our team to include a Compliance Officer. This is a new role within the company and as such would suit someone who is looking for a new challenge and is proactive in finding solutions. 
 
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations you will be part of a small and friendly team and will have autonomy to work under your own initiative. The successful candidate should if not all, display some of the requirements below and be able to demonstrate them through previous work experience. We value that there will be skills gained that are transferable and as such these should not be discounted within your application. For the right candidate training in key areas will be provided. 
 
The successful candidate needs to be self-motivated and should be able to organise their own schedule following a successful induction. Part of the role requires you to be able to provide clear and concise reports to senior management therefore both written and verbal English should be of a high standard. The role is a key link to operations throughout the business so you should have the ability to understand and follow processes and procedures and the confidence to challenge non-compliance. 
 
The successful candidate should have experience of working in a manufacturing/ warehouse environment or within industry. 
 
Quality and Environmental management systems 
Provide and maintain accurate and clear documentation of all quality/ environmental concerns in line with company policies and procedures 
Maintain and report quality concerns, provide evidence of corrective action and monitoring. 
Maintain a production staff capability and training matrix 
Manage / conduct audits of key business processes. Report on findings and ensure required actions are completed. Maintain a schedule to ensure all processes are audited on a timely basis. 
\Maintain certification and ensure the business remains fully compliant with ISO 9001 & when implemented ISO14001 requirements. Lead and manage the ISO9001 & ISO14001 annual audits with the support of senior management and ensure any actions are followed up in timely manner. 
Develop the businesses processes in relation to ISO14001 to ensure continual improvement 
Ensure equipment is recorded, maintained and calibrated in line with company policies 
Undertake internal audits and instigate/implement any identified corrective actions 
Support senior management in the implementation of ISO 14001:2015 
 
Compliance 
Ensure the UK business remains compliant at all times with all relevant laws and regulations regarding operations and business practice, and keep sufficient documentation to evidence this. 
Report the business’ compliance to management meetings highlighting any compliance breaches, upcoming requirements, areas of concern and areas for improvement. 
Manage and action customer quality and compliance reporting requests 
Management & Review of supplier compliance & auditing. 
 
Facilities Management 
Organise maintenance and building improvement work to be completed as and when required. 
 
Requirements 
Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: Quality Management/Environmental Management/Health and Safety/HR/Auditing 
 
A high standard of both written and verbal English 
Excellent communication skills 
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office suite 
The ability to work effectively within a team and individually 
Proactive, hands-on approach 
Highly organised 
 
Package 
Contracted hours of work are 08:30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday, and Friday an early finish at 2:00pm with 30 minutes lunch each day 
28 days holiday including bank holidays plus additional days holiday over Christmas and New Year based on business needs. 
Training available as required 
Salary £30k to £34k (DOE)
